5 November 1951 SUBJECT: Operational Report of OPERATION DESERT ROCK TO: Commanding Officer By 28 Oct 51 final preparations were being made for the big explosion at Yucca Pass. Numerous dry runs were made into the Forward Area to perfect the motor movement and insure that a minimum of time was consumed in the movement. Work in Camp Desert Rock proceeded on or ahead of schedule. Signs again were in great demand but as a general rule, throughout the battalion, work was slacking off.
